Takagi Manpei, Takagi Shinpei attends “Yume Miru My My Melody Exhibition”!

Takagi Manpei, Takagi Shinpei is taking part in the “Yume Miru My My Melody Exhibition” at umu within Roppongi Hills (February 22nd ~ March 5th) At the same time they were the MC at the talk show of the designer of Hello Kitty, Yamaguchi Yuko.

The theme of this event was “My My Melody”. About 64 famous people and 15 different brands took part in designing the costumes for the popular character “My Melody”. The work of the winner of the “Yume Miru My My Melody Contest” is also displayed. There will also be talk shows given by the participants, My Melody autograph and photo session, My Melody designer autograph session and some goods only sold at this exhibition.

Manpei and Shinpei were welcomed with warm applauses as they came on stage to take part as the MC for Hello Kitty’s designer Yamaguchi Yuko’s talk show. After the show, they talked about their impression.

★ Shinpei
“I was very nervous as this was my first time as the MC, but right before the talk show Yuko-san told me that there was need to be worried. That really helped with my nervousness. Even after we left the stage, the audience was very nice, I really enjoyed this kind of atmosphere.”

★ Manpei
“This is also my first time as a MC, so from a while ago I have been thinking what it means to be a MC. But, when I actually experienced it I was very nervous but the audience was so nice, and with the warm support from Yuko-san and the staff I really enjoyed it. I’ve learned alot from this, and I hope to be able to challenge more MCs in the future. I will try hard in being able to talk more and become stronger.”

At this event, Manpei and Shinpei also tried designing (styling) My Melody! They will talk about their design

★ Manpei
“Originally we were going to design it separately but after some discussion we thought that “as Manpei & Shinpei, we should design it so that it’s easy for fans to recognize that it’s our work”. After all our special feature is that we are twins so remembering back to childhood, we designed it so that they had a pair look. Only the colour of the inner shirt was different. We used our image colour; Manpei was black and Shinpei was red. In the back we put in a design of a skull. “

★ Shinpei
“We wanted to make it casual so we used denim. Also since we usually wear hats, we gave My Melody a hat as well. When I saw the finished product I knew right away that it felt like us. The feature of twins was well shown. I felt that My Melody was well designed.”

And on March 3rd (Saturday) at the same venue, Manpei & Shinpei will have a talk show. I hope they are excited.

★ Manpei
“We will have a talk show on the 3rd. Today after I came to the venue, chatted with the audience I feel more relaxed. I will make it even more fun (than February 22nd talk show) so please come and watch. I hope you will enjoy it.”

★ Shinpei
“Today I was very nervous but I learned alot from this (MC) experience. I will use the things I learnt today and use it to make the event on the 3rd very fun. If you can laugh and enjoy this I will be very happy. So please come and play.”

“Yume Miru My My Melody Exhibition” that Takagi Manpei, Takagi Shinpei is taking part in goes on until March 5th (Monday). It is being held at umu within Roppongi Hills. The talk show that they will have is on March 3rd (Saturday). The tickets will be handed out about 2 hours before start time so please come and attend this talk show.

Can’t wait to see them. (Actually I hope I can get tickets ~ And hopefully they’ll let me take two for me and my evil twin!!!) And this may sound creepy ~ but after watching today’s TTTV I want to know if Manpei really smells like roses considering how much rose scented stuff he uses. XD (Even Shinpei asked if he was a girl. LOL)
